Breton and European Digital Library



This magazine was founded in January 1905 by Loeiz Herrieu and André Mellac. Loeiz Herrieus was its director. Bimonthly at first, it became a monthly the following year. It dissapeared in July 1944 after having distributed 395 numbers. It dealt with numerous subjects: news, tales, songs, advice to farmers, cooking recipes, reviews of books, the lives of famous people from the Vannes region and of Breton saints, etc... 3000 copies of the magazine were printed in 1907, but this went up to 5000, and exceptionally to 7000 between the two World Wars. The following were amongst the main contributors to it:- Jean-Pierre Calloc'h, Joseph le Bayon, Jean Marie Héneu, Pierre Mocaër, Yves le Diberder, Jean Mathurin Cadic, Loeiza ar Meliner, Jean Francois Marie Jacob, Joseph Cuillandre, Jerome Buleon, Guillaume Le Borgne...
